Captain Obvious
I need to lose weight.
I want to lose weight. I am going to lose weight. Sooner rather than later, please.
I'm 36 years old. I've been saying this on my very own for almost twenty years now. I've been told this for more than thirty years. You'd think I'd get it under control one of these days soon. Well, clearly I have not. I've had some moments of success. I once lost 50 pounds all on my own. I faithfully followed the South Beach Diet and did quite well. I moved across the country to be closest to the one I love, marry him, and all that, and that was the end of the weight loss success that was most recently known. Sigh.
I'm in a funk. I like exercise...sorta. I LOVE food though. I love easy food. I love sugary food. I love bright springy food. I love fattening food. I love healthy food. I freakin' love food. I love lots of it. I love it often. I love it when I'm sad. I love it when I'm happy. I love it when I'm bored. I love it when I'm on the run. I love it alone. I love it when I'm with others. I love it hot. I love it cold. I love it leftover. I love it. I need to knock it off.
I was at my friend Laurie's house this weekend, and she is in a similar boat. She's smaller than me, but she loves the food too. She recently began using www.MyFitnessPal.com and has been having good success. I'm going to give it a whirl. You track yourself. It's a good tool. I can do that. I especially can do that because IT'S FREE. www.SouthBeachDiet.com wasn't free. In fact, it was downright expensive. I am looking to cut all things...my size, my weight, my expenses. I can do this. And since I sit at a desk all day long, perhaps I can use some of this time to track what I've been up to rather than snooping around online for the next unbeatable gooey food item that I simply *must* try to recreate.
We'll see. I plan to lose 86 pounds doing this. I plan to do it within a year. I think that's reasonable. If I can manage to lose 100 pounds, then I might send my less-than-fat-arse to Disney World or something. We'll see. Anyway, I'm doing it. So take that!
